Professional Medical & Health Care In Full Measure
St. Anthony Catholic Hospital is a faith-based healthcare institution committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality, and accessible medical services to the community. Guided by a mission to serve with dignity and care, the hospital has grown from humble beginnings into a trusted center for comprehensive healthcare.d.
Foundational Years (1999 – 2015)
Founded in 1999 as a small immunization and first aid center within a rented classroom at St. Anthony Nursery School, the facility initially served schoolchildren and the surrounding Engashura community. As demand for healthcare services grew and access remained limited, the center expanded to include outpatient services and an antenatal clinic (ANC).
With continued support and vision, the Little Sisters acquired land and developed a dedicated health center, introducing essential services such as dental care, maternity services, laboratory diagnostics, and inpatient care.
Growth & Transformation (2016 – Present)
In 2016, during a nationwide doctors’ strike, the hospital demonstrated resilience and commitment by setting up a makeshift theatre to provide life-saving surgical services. That same year, it was officially registered as a health facility, marking a significant step in its growth.
A major milestone was achieved in 2021 with the opening of a new hospital wing and the launch of a strategic development plan led by the Bishop of Nakuru. These advancements strengthened the hospital’s capacity to deliver quality care.
Where We Are Today
Today, St. Anthony Catholic Hospital is a fully established Level IV hospital, offering a wide range of services including renal dialysis, ICU and HDU care, maternity, outpatient and inpatient services, and specialized consultant clinics.
Looking ahead, the hospital’s 2025–2030 Strategic Plan focuses on sustainability, innovation, and expanding healthcare access to underserved communities, ensuring that no one is left behind.
